What about a end of summer country themed party for Labor Day weekend? This would be the perfect kick off to Fall! The candy apples are such a wonderful touch and I am loving the old barn seating on top of the hay bundles.
How in the world is my little man one?!? Time truly flies when you have a baby. I know my Mom warned me, but good Lord, that went fast! So I knew going into this party, Kellan was born just days before The Masters Tournament, so a golf theme, was a must! Plus it helped getting Dad to commit to having a party in general, especially with it involving having a TV outside for everyone to watch the final round. Win, win for all! This year we were fortunate enough to be able to attend the Masters, so all the prep and planning was completed before our trip back East.
My cousin Brooks helped me with the design of the invite, which thankfully paved the way into our color scheme and conceptual design. For me, the conceptual design is my expertise, where as the food and the desserts, I definitely had some helping hands! (Thanks Jen & Julie). Me & Shinoda Design Center were bffs by the end of this project. The lanterns, table runners, golf ball bowls & vases were all from Shinoda. I strung the little golf balls out of golf ball Christmas ornaments to add some more pizazz to our garland. I also used the white lanterns as large golf balls, by printing out the Titleist logos to tape on to the lanterns. We purchased 6 artificial grass patch rugs to make Kellan's Driving Range. This was a huge hit as most of Kellan's bffs are under age one. Golf balls and golf clubs were everywhere, I purchased these kiddie sets from Rite Aid (score!). On the Beverage Cart, we served Arnold Palmers with fresh mint & lemon slices. We also served beer & wine. For food we served, 'Club' Sandwiches, 'Chip Shots' (chips & dip), 'Green Tees' (grapes on golf tees), 'Bucket of Balls' (Powered Donut Holes), 'Sand Traps' (Rice Krispey Treats dipped in Lemon green icing) & Vegies. For desset, we had Hole-in-One cupcakes (Thanks Jen!). As a favors, each child left with a sand pail with treats & argyle socks. The note read, "Thanks for swinging by. Looking forward to playing with y'all in our local sand trap (the beach, duh!) this Summer. Cheers, Kellan". The adults received 'Practice Balls' to go (cake pops, thanks Julie!).
The party was a complete hit, literally. I believe everyone truly had a swinging time.
